Abstract: Introduction: Pregnancy is a marvelous thing in the life of a couple. Childbirth is one of the multifaceted processes that all pregnant women need to go through, although it covers a lot of problems and complications. A homely atmosphere can help parturient mothers come across this problem. A major concern of pregnant woman during labor is how they cope up with the labor pain. If the lamaze technique is provided, it helps adapt with the pain, and her natural process of labor can become fruitful and meaningful. To have this marvelous experience, skillful maternity care is an essential part of the intranatal period. The intranatal period is an ideal time for a midwife to identify abnormalities which arise intranatally, either in the mother or in the fetus. Aim: To assess the effect of the Lamaze technique on the mode of delivery and fetal and maternal complications among parturient mothers admitted in the labor room. Materials and Methods: A quantitative and a qualitative (mixed) research approach and an experimental research design were used for the present study. The study was conducted in the labor room at Krishna Hospital, Karad. The study population comprised all pregnant women who come to Antenatal Care Outpatient Department (ANC OPD) at Krishna Hospital, Karad. This study was conducted on 110 participants, which was chosen by using the simple random sampling technique. All pregnant women who come to ANC OPD at Krishna Hospital, Karad, were included, and pregnant women who were at high risk were excluded. The collected data were analyzed in terms of the objectives of the study using descriptive (frequency and percentage) and inferential statistics (paired t test and chi-square). Results: Delivery modes statistics shows that 35 (63.6%) mothers in the study group had normal vaginal deliveries, as compared to 26 (47.3%) in the control group, with a significant difference noted P < 0.0001. There was a significant difference between both groups as 52 (94.5%) mothers in the study group delivered without complications, whereas only 27 (49.1%) in the control group experienced deliveries without any complications ( P < 0.0001). Regarding fetal outcomes, 52 (94.5%) fetuses in the study group were born without complications, while 39 (70.9%) in the control group were free from complications. This difference was statistically significant ( P = 0.004). Conclusion: According to results of the present study, the lamaze technique was an effective measure to conduct normal vaginal deliveries and to reduce maternal and fetal complications during the intranatal period, which had significance outcomes found out in the present study.
