Abstract: . Repeated measures refer to a set of data collected from the same subjects at several time points or under different conditions. To test for differences in means across time points or conditions, Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) is commonly used. However, because data across conditions tend to be highly correlated, the use of conventional ANOVA (Completely Randomized Design) may lead to reduced test sensitivity due to increased error. Therefore, alternative analyses are needed to minimize such errors. There are two alternative approaches: the first is a univariate approach, where ANOVA includes the experimental units in the statistical model and uses the F-test. The second approach is profile analysis, which is equivalent to testing a mean vector using the Hotelling’s T² statistic. Assumptions required to determine the distribution of the test statistic include multivariate normality and homogeneous variances. Repeated measures ANOVA and profile analysis are used to test the differences in the average scores of the Cultural Development Index (CDI) in Indonesia from 2018 to 2022. If the results from repeated measures ANOVA and/or profile analysis indicate significant differences, a follow-up test using the Bonferroni method is required to identify which groups differ significantly. The results from the repeated measures design and profile analysis showed that there were significant differences in the average Cultural Development Index scores in Indonesia across years (2018–2022) at the 1% significance level.
