Treatment of rhinoorbital mucoromycosis in a multimorbid patient (clinical case)

Abstract: A clinical case of a rare orbital lesion with mucormycosis, which developed against the background of odontogenic osteomyelitis in a patient with diabetes mellitus, is presented. A comprehensive approach, including antifungal therapy, surgical interventions and correction of carbohydrate metabolism, made it possible to localize the infection and stabilize the patient's condition; however, vision in the right eye could not be restored.
