Abstract: Nigeria has been a nation seen to be blessed in so many areas, human intellectuals, capacity, diversity, materiality, natural and solid minerals despite the gift of these God’s given commonwealth, majority of the masses are still living in abject poverty. A nation endowed with not less than 44 different types of solid mineral resources spread over the 36 States and Federal Capital Territory. The most prominent of these minerals is gold which is the basis of this research hence the study examined financial and economic challenges resulting from illegal activities and theft of gold mineral resources in Nigeria and whether it is to the extent of giving us a picture of whether the Nation is under siege or not? Desktop study research method is used to provide substantial information that will make an average individual to reach a conclusion on the question whether “Nigeria is a nation under siege or not“ - financial and economic perspectives”
