Abstract: This study aims to analyze the impact of the PROMED project – Promotion of Medicinal Plants in the Amazon Ecosystems – in the quilombola communities of Breu Branco, focusing on the integration of traditional knowledge and sustainable technologies. The methodology used includes participatory diagnosis, practical workshops, and qualitative and quantitative data analysis. The project involved identifying local medicinal plant species, training communities in sustainable cultivation, and the use of biodigesters, as well as monitoring results in terms of biodiversity, food security, and community organization. Results indicate a significant increase in knowledge and autonomy among the participating communities, along with improvements in environmental conservation and quality of life. It was found that the combination of traditional practices with innovative technologies can promote sustainable development, strengthen local networks, and contribute to social inclusion. It is concluded that projects like PROMED are viable and replicable in other Amazonian communities, serving as a model for sustainable development initiatives in traditional territories.
