Abstract: This article delves into how and why local actors contribute to peace formation within the traditional context of the Georgian village of Choporti in the Dusheti region. Employing Ethnographic Peace Research and anthropological accounts specific to the field, it examines societal peace concepts, institutions and practices. Studying everyday peace formation from below in Choporti reveals local tensions over ecological and infrastructural issues, social tensions based on the length of residency, and value-based differences. Despite these tensions, everyday peace remains embedded in traditional worldviews, communal and reciprocal practices, and in local relationalities.
