Abstract: This study aimed at analyzing the political-pedagogical trends of Social Work in the Multiprofessional Health Residency Program at the University Hospital of Brasilia (HUB), of the University of Brasilia (UnB), from 2010 to 2023. The methodology employed included a literature review, document analysis, and field observation of activities conducted in the hospital’s Oncology Care and Cardiopulmonary Care Programs in the capacity of Coordinating Professor and Social Work Residents. The theoretical framework of the study was based on theoretical-critical elements of Social Work and conceptual postulates of the Unified Health System (SUS). The results showed that whenever the themes discussed in the program’s Residency Theses (RTs) were comprehensive, they referred to issues directly related to professional work in the field of Social Work and the multiprofessional team and, when they focused on specific issues, the themes were related to palliative care and reception. These topics are well-founded; they are articulated with the theoretical-critical basis of Social Work; and they align with the founding principles of the SUS. However, there are nods in the direction of biomedical approaches that are common in the hospital model of care. Given the precarious situation of health and education policies in Brazil in the second decade of the 21st century, it has become a challenge to promote the pedagogical character of the Multiprofessional Residency Program in practical actions, in line with the principles of the SUS, the Health Reform and the Ethical-Political Project of Social Work.
