Abstract: Organizational transformation is a multi-dimensional procedure that features revenues, human resource management, and technological restructuring. Regarding the energy sector, the restructuring can be separated into energy generation, transmission, and distribution as foundation-level sections. In many states, the Power Generation, Transmission, and Power Distribution are pretty much segregated in India. Nevertheless, the Electricity Amendment Bill-2014 additionally attempts to segregate the distribution network business and the electricity supply business, which demands several staff members for operating the electricity supply network and different staff for billing as well as professional activities in the same region area with the aid of distribution permits. Consequently, to meet the prerequisite of the Electricity Amendment Bill 2014, electricity distribution firms expect organizational restructuring depending on practicable areas rather than regional ones. The distribution Network business is considerably more technical. It requires engineering and technical staff, while the power supply business wants a few technical and administrative personnel who will execute billing, tariff, revenue, and consumer complaint handling, i.e., financial elements of the business. On the other hand, there is a need for transformation for optimum restructuring, which varies depending on the business attributes needed. Hence, the proposed study aims to study the distribution sector of MSEDCL with consideration of human resource management, which depends on numerous functions of the electricity distribution business. This paper presents the analysis and mapping of key challenges that impact the restructuring of the MSEDCL human resource department.
