Abstract: India has a large amphibian population and is one of the 17 most biodiverse countries in the world. As delicate bioindicators, amphibians are vital to maintaining ecological harmony in their dual roles as predators and prey. With a focus on endemic species and biodiversity hotspots, this review paper provides an overview of frogs in India, including their richness, distribution, and conservation status. The ecological systems in India rely heavily on amphibians. Much is still unknown, despite the fact that diversity documentation has come a long way. Preserving India's amphibian heritage requires vigilant habitat protection and regular revisions to scientific evaluations.
