Type: article
Abstract: This research aims to develop a model for learning history outside the classroom that is fun and can improve creative thinking skills. This research uses a Research and Development/R&D approach. The subjects of this research were students from the 2020 and 2021 classes of the History Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas PGRI Madiun. The research was carried out in East Java Indonesia for one year. Results reveal that the HWC framework significantly enhances students’ abilities to analyze historical events creatively, make connections between past and present and generate innovative solutions to historical dilemmas. Furthermore, students report higher motivation and a more profound appreciation for history as a dynamic and relevant field. The article concludes by advocating for the broader application of HWC in educational contexts, emphasizing its potential to transform traditional history instruction into a dynamic process that cultivates both cognitive and emotional engagement. By blending enjoyment with rigorous academic inquiry, HWC offers a promising pathway for fostering creative, critical thinkers prepared to navigate the complexities of the modern world.
