Abstract: The Olympic Games is not only a sports competition, but also a platform for global cultural exchange and integration. This study aims to thoroughly analyse the various factors affecting the number of Olympic medals and construct a mathematical model. By analysing historical medal data, the number of participants, the type of events and the influence of the host country, we use ridge regression to predict the number of gold medals and the total number of medals in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Through model training, we find that the number of participants and the type of program have a significant effect on the number of medals; the more programs competed, the higher the number of medals.
