Access to Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics in an Integrated Primary Care Clinic for Children in Foster Care
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Children entering foster care have complex medical and behavioral health conditions, with a growing number having intellectual and developmental disabilities.1 Primary care providers (PCPs) are tasked with comprehensively addressing the needs of these children and coordinating care between specialists and child welfare agencies.2 However, many PCPs do not have the skills or time to address developmental-behavioral (DB) issues and those who spend more time coordinating care are at higher risk of burnout.
