Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: The article considers case studies as an effective tool for the professional development of foreign language teachers. The pedagogical advantages and didactic effectiveness of this method are analyzed, and the features of its implementation in teaching practice are determined. Based on the analysis of modern scientific sources and empirical research, it is proven that case studies contribute to the formation of critical thinking, reflection, improving pedagogical skills and developing innovative teaching strategies. Recommendations are presented for organizing case studies as part of teacher training. It is necessary to take into account the components of the distinctive features of human language, namely: reflexivity, imaginary displacement, arbitrariness, productivity, cultural continuity and duality, since communication cannot exist without knowledge of language. Analysis of such situations allows the teacher not only to solve a specific problem, but also to develop algorithms for future actions.
