Abstract: Introduction: Diabetes and cardiovascular diseases are multifactorial disorders that represent a leading cause of morbidity, mortality and disability worldwide, entities that generate a large burden on public health. Objective: To characterize cardiometabolic and behavioral risk factors in three programs of the Faculty of Health Sciences during the first semester of 2024. Materials and methods: A descriptive study was carried out in the university community in a sample of 217 participants, applying the Findrisc Scale and identifying modifiable behavioral risk factors. The information was processed with Statgraphics Centurion-19®; comparisons were made by sex and a statistically significant difference was considered when the p value <0.05. Results: It was found that 78% of the participants have a low risk of developing Diabetes in the next 10 years according to the Findrisc scale and 56% have a family member with diabetes. In terms of behavioral risk factors, 71.43% considered that they did not have a restful sleep, with the highest percentage being women. Women consume more alcohol (38.71%) and men more electronic cigarettes (6.45%) and psychoactive substances (5.07%), mainly marijuana with occasional frequency. Conclusion: Students of the Faculty of Health Sciences have a low risk of developing diabetes according to the Findrisc scale. Women have more non-restorative sleep and alcohol consumption and men more substance and electronic cigarette consumption.
