Particle Swarm Optimization Fuzzy PID Control Strategy for Hydraulic System of Log-core Veneer Lathe

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: At present, the spindle free rotary cutting machine is the main equipment for log plate processing. The hydraulic driven rotary cutting feed mechanism can adapt to log processing with more diameters due to its large feed force and good synchronous performance. This article focuses on the hydraulic drive system of a larger shaftless log rotary cutting machine. Firstly, formulas for servo valves and proportional valves such as servo transfer function and proportional amplification function are constructed. Then, step signals are input to dynamically analyze the servo valve control and proportional valve control systems. For the hydraulic closed-loop synchronous control system, based on a single equivalent control method, the master and slave hydraulic cylinders are PID corrected to reduce the hydraulic cylinder stroke error. Finally, particle swarm optimization algorithm is introduced into the fuzzy control PID control strategy to optimize the proportional and quantization factors of the fuzzy PID. Finally, through comparative ablation experiments, particle swarm optimization algorithm is introduced to optimize the fuzzy PID, resulting in a 21.7% increase in displacement response time, a 75.6% reduction in synchronous displacement error, and a 1.37s reduction in return time. This proves the feasibility of the method proposed in this article.
