Both quantitative (Likert scale) and qualitative (observation and interviews) instruments were applied. Results showed a significant increase in reading motivation and interest, as well as in reading comprehension and class participation among the students who worked with augmented reality. The study concludes that augmented reality represents a pedagogical innovation with great potential for reading instruction in basic education.
