A Probabilistic Reliable Linguistic MEREC-EDAS Model for Virtual Meeting Platform Selection Under Uncertainty

Type: article
Abstract: In today's world, virtual meeting platforms are vital for global communication, but their selection involves complex, multi-criteria decision-making.This paper proposes an enhanced multi-attribute group decision-making (MAGDM) model designed to improve the selection decisions for virtual meeting platforms. This structured method assesses attributes and alternatives through a weighted-ranking MAGDM approach. The enhanced model extends the Method based on Removal Effects of Criteria method (MEREC) and the Evaluation based on the Distance from Average Solution (EDAS) method to the probabilistic reliable linguistic term set (PRLTS) environment. Then, a novel PRL-MEREC-EDAS model is developed. In this model, the PRL-MEREC model is designed to objectively deduce the weights of the attributes. The PRL-EDAS approach is subsequently developed to rank the alternatives.Consequently, we validate the applicability of the proposed PRL-MEREC-EDAS method by evaluating virtual meeting platforms.Ultimately, sensitivity and comparison analyses are conducted to assess the robustness and effectiveness of the proposed approach.By employing the proposed method, we solve the problem of information uncertainty regarding decisionmakers' evaluations. In addition, the proposed method addresses the challenge of information reliability by taking into account the varying knowledge backgrounds and perspectives of decision-makers in a MAGDM process.By offering a more robust and realistic approach to handling uncertainty in evaluating alternatives, this model has significant implications for improving decision-making.
