Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: The research background of this paper is that the 1.5°C warming limit set by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) of the United Nations has been breached. The frequency of extreme weather events has increased, and millions of tons of garbage are dumped into the ocean every year, exacerbating current environmental problems. The purpose of this paper is to analyze and summarize relevant cases of environmental posters through narrative design methods, ultimately extracting design characteristics. At the same time, it aims to provide valuable references for the design of environmental posters. This study employs a qualitative research method with a narrative design focus.Through case analysis, the study examines narrative content and emotional expression strategies in environmental posters. The findings indicate that narrative design effectively conveys key messages and emotional values.Specifically, personification makes environmental issues more relatable and tangible, enabling viewers to understand the narrative more effectively.Omission simplifies information, delivering messages concisely while leaving room for audience interpretation. The citation incorporates familiar elements to enhance poster recognition and evoke emotional resonance.Contrast enhances narrative emphasis and fosters a more profound emotional response from viewers. These findings provide new perspectives and strategies for creating environmental posters, thereby expanding the potential of narrative design in environmental advocacy.
