Year: 2025

Study design: Observational Study
Abstract: This study aimed to explore the practical applicability of agro-healing for enhancing the physical and emotional health of older adults by analyzing their perceptions, interest levels, experiences, preferred activity resources, and the effectiveness of agro-healing programs at a senior welfare center in Region G.A structured survey was conducted, and results were derived through descriptive statistics and correlation analysis. The findings showed that the perceived value of agro-healing scored an average of 3.83, and interest level was 3.71, indicating generally high recognition and engagement.Quality of life averaged 3.65, while feelings of despair were relatively low at 2.72.Correlation analysis revealed a positive relationship between the value and interest in agro-healing and quality of life, and a negative correlation with despair, suggesting agro-healing may contribute to emotional stability.Regarding experience, 73.1% of respondents had experience in plant cultivation, 39.3% in animal care, and 58.2% expressed willingness to pay for agro-healing programs.Preferred activity resources ranked highest as walking on trails (4.27), meditation experiences (4.08), plant cultivation (3.99), and vegetable harvesting (3.97), while animal-related resources showed relatively lower preference.Among program effectiveness expectations, social healing effects received the highest score (4.00).These results suggest that agro-healing has practical potential as a welfare center-based program to improve the quality of life and reduce despair among older adults.
