Analysis of energy transfer efficiency via Bödewadt flow subject to convective boundary conditions: A comparative study

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Heat transfer in Bödewadt flow in the presence of magnetohydrodynamic is investigated in this paper. Bödewadt flow is a situation when the fluid rotates away from the stationary disk at a significant large distance. Also, the stationary disk is porous and subjected to convective boundary condition and linear stretching. Moreover, three types of Bödewadt flows like hybrid nanofluid, basefluid and nanofluid are analyzed. Flow and heat transport equations are modeled and then transformed into dimensionless coupled ODEs (Ordinary differential equations) via self-similar variables. These nonlinear coupled ODEs are then tackled by OHAM (an optimal version of homotopy analysis method) for solution purpose. Comparison amongst Bödewadt basefluid flow, nanofluid flow and hybrid nanofluid flow is done for various pertinent parameters. Results are visualized via barographs and average residual error is obtained in tabulated form. It is examined that average squared residual error decreases with an increase in the number of iterations. It is noted that all physical quantities converge smoothly and satisfy the boundary conditions. Moreover, radial stretching encourages outward and inward flows through mechanical expansion.
