Abstract: Muscle weakness is a condition where muscles do not contract as strongly as they should, resulting in difficulty moving or using them. It can result from a variety of underlying causes, including neurological, muscular, metabolic, autoimmune, and systemic disorders. Common reasons of muscle weakness contain myasthenia gravis, muscular dystrophies, peripheral neuropathies, and electrolyte imbalances. The onset of these conditions can be either sudden or gradual, depending on the underlying etiology.. Muscle weakness is often accompanied by other neurological abnormalities. A thorough diagnostic workup typically involving clinical assessment, lab tests, electromyography, imaging, and occasionally muscle biopsy is essential to determine the cause. Identifying the root cause is key to guiding appropriate treatment and improving outcomes. Muscle weakness can also result from disuse atrophy (lack of exercise), A healthy diet, regular exercise, and stress management can help improve muscle health and function. In some cases, surgery may be necessary to address underlying conditions causing nerve damage or compression. Muscle weakness often arises from insufficient physical activity, aging, muscle injuries, or pregnancy. Chronic conditions like diabetes and heart disease can also contribute to this issue. Other potential causes include neurological disorders such as stroke and multiple sclerosis, as well as mental health conditions like depression. A common contributor to muscle deconditioning is a sedentary lifestyle. When muscles aren't regularly engaged, muscle fibers can be replaced by fat, leading to muscle atrophy and increased fatigue during daily activities
