Abstract: The Iron Man Spirit originated from the world-famous Daqing Oil Battle in the 1960 s. Its core connotation can be summarized as " patriotism, entrepreneurship, realism and dedication. " This spirit provides valuable red cultural resources for ideological and political education in colleges and universities in the new era. Integrating the spirit of iron man into ideological and political education in colleges and universities is an inevitable requirement for colleges and universities in the new era to carry forward red culture and implement the fundamental task of cultivating people with morality. By analyzing the connotation and value of the iron man spirit, combined with the practical needs of the ideological and political education in colleges and universities in the new era, this paper explores the practical path of integrating the iron man spirit into the ideological and political education in colleges and universities, and provides new theoretical basis and practical ideas for the ideological and political education in colleges and universities in the new era.
