Year: 2025
Type: conference-paper
Abstract: The thesis presents a comparative legal analysis of the legal and psychological aspects of polygraph use in Ukrainian judicial practice, taking into account the comparison of approaches to polygraphs in the USA and the EU. The generalization of polygraph features and scientific approaches to important aspects of polygraph use, including both ethical and legal risks, gave rise to the conclusion that the polygraph is generally assessed as an effective means of verifying testimony in criminal proceedings, which contributes to justice. As a result of the study, the author proposes to improve the legislation of Ukraine, including through the implementation of effective legal norms as effective practices of world leaders in the use of polygraph, in order to further fully implement polygraph as an element of law enforcement in Ukraine.
