Abstract: Evaluation of plant material means confirmation of its identity and determination of quality, purity and detection of adulterants which may be present in the plant material.Standardization of plant materials is carried out to determine their quality and purity.Powder analysis is used for qualitative analysis of the plant material and is one of the techniques used in standardization of the plant material.It is used to identify the quality of the plant material by using histological characters.In this article, microscopical study of plant powder of Woodfordia fruticosa is carried out which is an important aspect of their histological evaluation.These studies will serve as standard reference for identification and distinguishing plant powder of Woodfordia fruticosa from its substituents and adulterants.This work would assist in the identification of the crude drug in future.
