Abstract: Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia (PJP) is a potentially fatal complication in patients with systemic rheumatic diseases undergoing immunosuppressive therapy.Although its primary prophylaxis using trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole (TMP-SMX) is known to be effective, clinical guidance on when it is safe to discontinue prophylaxis remains unclear. To address this gap, this study aimed to identify clinical factors associated with the development of PJP in patients receiving prophylaxis to inform tailored strategies regarding the timing of prophylaxis discontinuation.
