Abstract: On the eve of the centennial of the founding of the T. H. Shevchenko Institute of Literature, the journal "Slovo i Chas", through the publication of the minutes of the Party Bureau meeting of October 8, 1965, and the closed session of the Party Organization of the T. H. Shevchenko Institute of Literature of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR of November 11, 1965, brings to light little-known pages of the dramatic history of this research institution.
