Optimizing Cold Start Latency in Serverless Computing: A Comprehensive Review of Techniques and Emerging Solutions
Year: 2024
Type: conference-paper
Abstract: Serverless computing is a recreation-converting paradigm of cloud infrastructure, abstracting server management far from builders. However, the cold begin problem, or the latency this is injected while instantiating serverless features, remains one of the widespread bottlenecks of overall performance, particularly for latency-structured applications. To bridge this gap, this paper gives a complete overview of latest techniques engineered to alleviate bloodless start latency. We then talk several procedures together with pre-warming techniques, time series forecasting, and ML-primarily based predictions to regulate resources dynamically. Then we gift novel solutions which include part computing and characteristic fusion for lowering delay. In our contrast analysis, we display predictive models along with SARIMA blended with resource-efficient strategies regarding lightweight bins that achieve tremendous reductions in bloodless start latency, up to 50% in some cases. These techniques are even further stepped forward with the aid of reinforcement studying and AI-pushed optimization strategies, taking into consideration dynamic variation to adjustments in workload styles. The assessment introduces critical traits, overall performance metrics, and future guidelines with a focal point on the integration of side computing and AI for the bloodless start project in serverless computing.
