Abstract: Prior studies have shown that AVIM immediately, substantially, and significantly reduces systolic blood pressure (SBP) in hypertensive pacemaker patients, with a sustained antihypertensive effect at an average of 3.6 years. However, the time course of changes in SBP upon discontinuation of chronic AVIM delivery is unknown. This follow-up sub-study of subjects from the previously published randomized trial addresses the question.
