La gestión del cambio en instituciones de educación superior: enfoques administrativos para la adaptación a nuevas demandas sociales, tecnológicas y académicas en el siglo XXI
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Throughout the 21st century, the University of Guayaquil has been undergoing significant transformations driven by technological advancement, increasing social demands, and global academic challenges. In this scenario, change management has become a strategic pillar to ensure institutional adaptability and sustainability. This research adopts a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative techniques to provide a comprehensive understanding of the phenomenon by integrating empirical evidence with the analysis of organisational experiences and meanings. The findings suggest that, while efforts to introduce innovation into university management are evident, they are often fragmented and lack systemic coordination, which undermines their long-term effectiveness. Consequently, there is a pressing need to implement integrated administrative approaches aligned with contemporary dynamics in order to enhance educational quality, strengthen the university’s engagement with its broader environment, and elevate its international standing. At the same time, institutional transformation requires a critical reassessment of organisational structures, internal processes, and leadership practices to develop agile and contextually relevant strategies capable of responding effectively to current demands.
