Abstract: The rising trend of Chinese-style design in recent years promotes the innovative expression of traditional culture, which is now a significant access of intercultural communication when combined with video game industry. From the perspective of UI design, this research focus on the “Oriental Wonders” visual effect design in Chinese-style puzzle game. Taking the game The Rewinder for example, by quantitatively measuring and analyzing the Chinese player comments from Steam store, this research attempts to structure the UI design method of Chinese-style puzzle game based on the demand of player experience, and put forward the patternized developing strategy of “Oriental Wonders” visual effect design in Chinese-style puzzle game UI design from the aspects of scenes design / interaction design / characters design.
