Abstract: With China's emphasis on and promotion of gas development, gas has become one of the indispensable energy sources in people's lives. The study found that there are still some gaps in the safety risk field of household gas appliances. This paper proposes the design of a risk evaluation index system for the safety of household gas appliances. Through the safety checklist of an indoor gas system, the direct causes of indoor gas accidents are analyzed and converted into risk factors. Using the analytic hierarchy process, the risk types are divided into household gas equipment risk, gas equipment accessory risk, and personnel operation risk. These are set as the first-level indices of the evaluation system. Subsequently, 12 risk factors are divided into the second-level risk evaluation indices, thereby constructing a three-tier structure of the index system model. The risk evaluation index system of household gas appliances is established using fuzzy comprehensive evaluation combined with the data obtained by the analytic hierarchy process. The safety risk of using household gas appliances in the home of a gas user is evaluated, and the evaluation results show that the gas appliances of the gas user are between medium and low risk. The instance proves that the evaluation model can reflect the risk status of gas appliances more comprehensively and has certain reference value for the evaluation of actual gas appliances.
