While large hemorrhages can occasionally be recognized on PMCT, routine forensic applications for detecting back muscle hemorrhages remain limited. PMCT often underestimates the incidence of smaller intramuscular hemorrhages. Meticulous autopsy remains indispensable for the accurate diagnosis of intramuscular hemorrhage in drowning cases.
