Abstract: The defensive behavior in social insects influenced by ecological interactions and evolutionary pressures is essential to survival. In studying defensive mechanisms in eusocial organisms like ants, bees, termites, and wasps, this bibliometric overview examines research trends, essential contributions, and developing issues. Using bibliometric methods, we find significant publication trends, key authors, core journals, and keyword networks associated with defensive tactics, such as aggression, autotomy, alarm pheromones, cooperative defense, and chemical communication. According to our data, considerable research is being conducted on how eusociality may enhance collective defense, how environmental stressors impact behavior, and how artificial intelligence can be integrated into behavioral studies. The results offer insightful information about the ever-evolving area of insect defense, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches and future research avenues for advancing our understanding of insect behaviour and ecology.
