Abstract: Background: The complicated autoimmune disease known as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) frequently progresses with serious side effects. Autoantibodies, systemic inflammation, and various tissue damage are all present in SLE. The most prevalent kind of lupus, SLE, is thought to be more severe than other types. The kidneys, heart, lungs, brain, blood, and skin are just a few of the bodily organs that SLE might impact. Patients have different symptoms. The pattern of flare-ups (when symptoms worsen) and remissions (when symptoms lessen) in SLE can be unexpected. Lupus nephritis may develop as an effect of the immune developments being deposited in the kidneys. The course of renal disease can be altered by early and targeted therapy. Methodology: Every member provided their written agreement before the study started, and the Ethics Committee of the University of Baghdad's College of Science's Biotechnology Department gave its approval. Between January and April of 2023, 80 female volunteers, 40 SLE patients, and 40 healthy controls attended the Baghdad Teaching Hospital's Rheumatology Unit. Results: Two SNPs (rs190708267 and rs1547354) were also found in this study's control group. The NCBI claims that although the SNPs found are unrelated to any diseases, they could be protective factors in healthy people. When comparing the sera of SLE patients to those of controls, the revision exposed an important decrease (P < 0.01) in the white blood cell and hemoglobin of patients in comparison to the control group,
