Abstract: 1. Introduction: Bridging Ancient Wisdom and Modern Imperatives 1.1. Context and Problem Statement The contemporary discourse on sustainable development has prompted a global re-evaluation of traditional knowledge systems, seeking timeless wisdom that can inform modern solutions. Within this context, Vastu Shastra, an ancient Indian architectural discipline, has emerged as a subject of significant interest. However, a widespread misunderstanding persists, often reducing its profound principles to mere superstitions or a form of pseudoscience. This perception, fueled by its commodification and association with unqualified practitioners, unjustly overshadows the discipline's practical, empirically-derived tenets. As a result, valuable, time-tested strategies for building in harmony with nature are often dismissed, preventing a deeper understanding of how this ancient framework can contribute to modern environmental conservation efforts.
