Motion Model for Tobacco Particles Considering Multiple Motion States and Residence Time Estimation
Year: 2025
Type: conference-paper
Abstract: This study proposes an improved motion model for tobacco particles in a rotary drum dryer and presents a method to estimate their residence time based on known structural and operating parameters. By accounting for multiple movement forms and estimating the real-time position of particles, the model enables accurate prediction of residence time, which is essential for precise moisture and temperature control during tobacco processing. Simulation results show that, when structural parameters are fixed, residence time and contact heating time are more sensitive to drum rotation speed than to hot air velocity. Thus, adjusting the drum speed proves to be an effective strategy for optimizing moisture control in the drying process.
