Year: 2025
Type: article
Study design: Observational Study
Abstract: This study examines investment awareness and financial planning behavior among individuals in Bangalore city.Utilizing a descriptive research design, primary data were collected from 450 respondents across various age groups using structured questionnaires, and analyzed with chi-square tests in SPSS.The findings reveal a statistically significant association between demographic factors-such as age, income, education, and occupation-and investment awareness.Individuals with higher education and income demonstrated greater awareness and proactive financial planning habits.Furthermore, the study highlights that financial literacy significantly impacts financial planning behavior, with financially literate individuals exhibiting better budgeting, saving, and investing practices.Income level also emerged as a crucial determinant, influencing the structure and effectiveness of financial planning decisions. While bank deposits remain the most preferred investment avenue due to their security, there is an observable conservative approach among investors, despite awareness of risk-return trade-offs.The research concludes by emphasizing the need for enhanced financial literacy initiatives to empower individuals, particularly those from lower-income or less-educated backgrounds, to make informed investment decisions.Promoting such awareness from an early age is vital for fostering long-term financial security and economic stability.
