Abstract: A cohort study using Swedish national data has found that while use of medication treatments for attention‐deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) consistently reduced risk of self‐harm, unintentional injury, and other adverse outcomes, these associations weakened in later years of the study. Investigators theorized that higher prescribing rates over time incorporated more individuals with less severe symptoms. Study results were published online June 25, 2025, in JAMA Psychiatry.
