Abstract: Specimens of the previously monotypic genus Tonalteca Cruz-López and Francke were discovered during the revision of material collected from a cave system in Puebla, central Mexico. The new species, Cruz-Lopez sp. n., is described and compared with the only known species, Tonalteca spinooculorum (Goodnight and Goodnight). A discussion of the monotypic and troglobitic genera in Stygnopsinae is provided.http://www.zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:pub:BCDA901D-91E1-4BF1-BE95-3B87E9F25565
