In the case of Brazil, a country with a strong focus on agribusiness, this importance is even more pronounced. This article aims to contextualize the PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act) methodology and present cases of companies in the food sector that apply it as a strategy for improving the production process. To this end, a literature review and systematic was conducted using the databases Google Scholar and Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO). According to the literature, the PDCA cycle is a tool that provides significant contributions to enriching discussions on quality, standing out for its structure that covers essential requirements such as the concept of quality and the combination of statistical and strategic approaches. It should be implemented continuously, promoting constant improvement in processes and the organization. In the final considerations, it is concluded that PDCA can be used in conjunction with other tools to meet product quality needs.
