Abstract: Parasitic infestations pose a major threat to the cultivable fishes that impact fish health and overall productivity. This case study targeted community and panchayat tanks across Warangal, Hanmakonda, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, and Mulugu districts in Telangana.Around 70-80 infected samples were examined from each site.Species of Argulus, Dactylogyrus, Gyrodactylus, Myxobolus, and Thelohanellus were found to be dominant parasites in the IMCs, Channa, Pangasius, Roopchand.Standard management practices significantly reduced mortality rates, highlighting effective strategies for mitigating parasitic impact.Mortality rates in the farmer-treated tanks(T 1 ) ranged from 5.5 -13.8%, while implementing recommended treatments(T 2 ) like 25 kg/ha of salt and 1 L/ha of formalin reduced mortality to 1.2 -3.9%.The findings highlight key measures for sustainable aquaculture practices.
