Abstract: Original researchperiodontal disease, and malocclusion, may have an impact on the OHRQoL.11 Therefore, it can be deduced that SDB may have an impact on oral health and, thereby, OHRQoL.The objective of this study was to assess the prevalence of SDB and its association with OHRQoL in 6-12-year-old children. We also assessed the association of SDB with caries status, developing malocclusion, and oral hygiene status. Materials a n d MethodsThe present study has been reported in accordance with the Strengthening the Reporting of Observational Studies introduction Sleep-disordered breathing (SDB) refers to a range of breathing disturbances during sleep, typically marked by snoring, increased upper airway resistance, prolonged and repetitive partial upper airway obstruction, and/or intermittent complete obstruction, essentially disrupting normal ventilation, oxygenation, and sleep quality. 1 SDB ranges from partial to complete upper airway obstruction 2 and can occur throughout childhood from infancy to adolescence.3 SDB has been identified as early as infancy, initially in association with sudden infant death syndrome in 1975.4 By 1976, obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) was recognized in school children.5 Since then, there has been a significant increase in the recognition of sleep disorders in children.Sleep-disordered breathing has been reported to impact craniofacial development, potentially leading to changes in both dental and skeletal structures. This highlights the importance of identifying SDB as a potential contributing factor in the development of malocclusion.6 In addition, children having Angle Class II and Class III molar relation showed a higher prevalence of SDB, 7,8 indicating an association between SDB and malocclusion.Oral health-related quality of life (QHRQoL) is an integral part of general health and well-being and has been recognized by WHO as an important segment of the Global Oral Health program.9 OHRQoL measures are subjective assessments based on individuals' perceptions of their oral health and how it affects different aspects of their daily life.10 Several oral diseases, including dental caries, 1-
