Abstract: The digital economy, driven by advancements in digital technologies, is undergoing a significant transformation with the integration of artificial intelligence (AI). This paper explores the evolving role of AI within the digital economy, examining its impact across various sectors such as e-commerce, healthcare, finance, and manufacturing. AI is enhancing efficiency, fostering innovation, and enabling new business models, while simultaneously posing challenges related to data privacy, ethics, and workforce disruption. The economic implications of AI are vast, with potential for increased productivity and growth, but also risks such as inequality and job displacement. By analysing these dynamics, this paper aims to provide a comprehensive overview of AI's contributions to the digital economy and highlights the key considerations for its responsible and equitable adoption.
