Abstract: Following the implementation of project AA01-SG05 focused on appraisal and disposition in Latin America in Spanish-speaking countries of the Region, carried out with the purpose of learning about the possibility of using of Artificial Intelligence, AI on appraisal (AA01-SGO5 InterPARES TRUST AI, 2023), other issues related to the project emerged. This led to a review of the most relevant ones facing challenges for records, archives, information, and data produced by the public offices or agencies. To provide context for the AA01-SG05 project, the evolution of appraisal and criteria for digital records is commented, next and overview of the aforementioned project is then offered, followed by a brief review of topics related to AI and archives regulation, explainability and paradata, professional development, finishing with some conclusions.
