Abstract: Slovenian Humanitarian Aid after the 1963 Skopje Earthquake The article, which was written as part of a master's thesis of the same title, presents the main areas and aspects of the humanitarian aid provided by the Socialist Republic of Slovenia to Skopje following the catastrophic earthquake on July 26, 1963. In addition to the earthquake itself, the article covers the extent of material damage and the initial responses from both domestic and international communities. It offers a detailed account of the establishment of Slovenian aid committees and bodies, an overview of various forms of assistance (medical, material, construction), and the reception and accommodation of evacuees in the Socialist Republic of Slovenia. The article is based on newspaper sources from Slovenian publications (Delo and Ljubljanski dnevnik) as well as archival materials from the collections of the Archives of the Republic of Slovenia. These newspaper and archival sources provide insight into the actions of Slovenian authorities, organizations, and volunteers who assisted Skopje in various ways during the first months after the earthquake. The main objective is to provide an overview and highlight the key points and methods of organizing Slovenian humanitarian aid in the aftermath of the earthquake.
