Abstract: This study allows us to understand both the beam structure and the production of NPs in pulsed laser ablation in liquids (PLAL) by modifying the spatial structure of the Gaussian beam. A cylindrical lens was used to focus a femtosecond pulse laser beam to produce Au NPs, resulting in improved NPs yield compared to those obtained using spherical lenses. This improved yield is achieved by efficiently distributing the energy over the sample due to the structure of the focused beam.
