Propagation of fields generated from partially coherent sources with uni-variable cross spectral density
Year: 2025
Type: conference-paper
Abstract: A new class of partially coherent light sources characterized by a cross-spectral density (CSD) function that depends only on a single complex variable has been recently introduced. It has been shown that the CSD of these sources is expandable in power series in their convergence domain and has vortex fields as modes. This enables the generation of a virtually unlimited number of source models with specific coherence structures. In this work, the propgation in the Fresnel region of the field radiated by uni-variable sources is analyzed. Several examples are developed to show the rich variety of behaviors that can be found.
