Abstract: Polarization-maintaining properties for a nested tube negative curvature hollow-core fiber are numerically investigated when the whole fiber cross-section is subjected to physical deformation leading to elliptical fiber forms. The results indicate that ellipticity provides a useful fine-tuning mechanism for polarization maintaining operation of fiber.
