Abstract: Introduction: Disparities in motor skills (MS) can only be addressed by Physical Education (PE) teachers, researchers, and professionals related to this field as long as these are sufficiently known. Objective: The study was carried out with the aim of analyzing the development of MS in Peruvian children according to their natural environment, socioeconomic level, BMI for age and sex. Methods: A total of 341 children participated and were administered the TGMD-3, a sociodemographic and socioeconomic questionnaire, and body mass and height were measured. Results: The development of MS according to natural environment showed significant differences; according to socioeconomic level, there were no significant differences; according to BMI for age, there were no significant differences; and according to sex, there were significant differences in part. Discussion: The results found respond to the world trend and to the context where the study was conducted. Conclusions: First, MS turned out to be influenced by the natural environment, which is a factor that can favor or restrict the experience and time of motor action. Second, MS was not influenced by socioeconomic status, so socioeconomic status does not always establish disparities. Third, MS was not found to be influenced by BMI-for-age, except in running, horizontal jumping and below-hip throwing skills, so it will always be important to have a normal weight in childhood. And fourth, MS turned out to be influenced, in part, by sex, as the global trend was evident, but not in locomotion.
