Abstract: Based on the concept of following nature, this paper discusses the bionic application of lepidoptera insects in fashion design.By analyzing the philosophical connotation of following nature and its enlightenment to modern design, combined with bionics theory, the compound eye structure, wing texture, antennae and mouthparts of lepidoptera such as butterflies and moths were systematically studied.The multi-eye micro-nano structure is applied to the design of anti-fog fabric, and a new type of textile material is developed based on the light reflection principle of wing scales.Studies have shown that the biological characteristics of lepidoptera insects provide multiple inspiration for the form, function and ecological wisdom of clothing design, which helps to promote the development of sustainable fashion and realize the harmonious symbiosis of "human-costume-environment".
